Additional Drivers

A surcharge of $5.00/day will apply for each additional driver.

Additional driver fee will be applied to each additional person printed on the contract whether or not that person will be driving the vehicle. The person responsible for payment of the rental MUST be named on the rental contract whether or that person will be driving. No additional drivers will be removed from the contract after the vehicle leaves our office. All additional drivers are responsible for the vehicle until the vehicle is returned.

AIRPORT DELIVERY
Please note that all deliveries and pick-ups from any airport, are subject to an additional service charge. Please speak with one of our friendly agents for all information related to Airport dropoffs and pickups. We will always do whatever we can in order to provide you with an excellent rental experience.
Credit Card Authorization Amount
Our authorization deposit amount for a rental car is simple. At Action DISCOUNT rent-a-car, we will authorize your credit card the rental price plus a deposit of $300 for most "regular" cars, or a higher amount for our line of EXOTIC and LUXURY vehicles. If your rental is a Cash, Debit Card, or Bank Card rental, the minimum deposit above the rental price is $750 for non exotic cars. Please feel free to call us to discuss these deposits. CREDIT CARD INSURANCE
Most major credit cards such as Amex, Master Card, Visa, and Discover have Car Rental Insurance available at no charge as a courtesy to the credit card owner. Call your credit card company and ask them "Do I have car rental insurance on my card, and if yes, what is the limit?" and they will tell you. If you are covered, you may decline our insurance and you will be covered for collision damages or theft of our vehicle with no deductable. This is very good for you. BUT please remember. All Porsches, Corvette, Full Size SUV's, and in most cases vehicles with an original sticker price of over $50,000 will probably not be covered by the credit card. Some credit cards including American Express do have higher insurance coverages. American Express also has a higher level of insurance available. It is called Premium Car Rental Insurance. We recommend it very highly. It covers most all vehicles including many of the high end vehicles and full size SUV's and sports cars. Call AMEX and ask to be upgraded to this coverage id you need an exotic vehicle or large SUV. It's worth the phone call and to enoll in this Premium Car Rental Insurance.
Cargo Van Rental
A cargo van is a van with ONLY 2 seats. Any van rental that has in it any additonal seating is considered and will be charges as a passenger van. NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank You
Car color or model, or state registration
We will always try to give you a specific color or model of car, but we cannot guarantee that a specific car will be available. You will however get the correct car in the car class you reserved.
We also cannot guaranty the state of registration of our vehicle. Our vehicles may be registered on NY, NJ, PA, etc.

Cash Rentals
We do CASH rentals on all our vehicle. You will need to bring with you 3 forms of identification (cell phone bill, pay stub, etc.) There is also a refundable deposit for cash rentals of not less than $500. Please call our office for more information.
CASH & DEBIT RENTAL & SUMMONSES
If you are renting a luxury or exotic vehicle and your deposit is in cash or DEBIT CARD only, upon return of your deposit a portion of the cash amount, up to $500 for each 7 days of rental will be held by us until we are able to verify whether or not your rental caused any parking violations within New York City. This verification can take up to 21 days. The reason for this policy is that if a parking summons or traffic summons was caused by the driver of your rental vehicle, we must be able to fund the payment of the possible summons. If you have any question or issue with this policy please discuss it with one of our managers and we will be happy to discuss it further with you and give you possible solutions for not holding the cash.

Corporate Rates for holidays or weekends
Due to extremely high demand for vehicles during Holidays and weekends, please be advised that Corporate Rates are NOT VALID during any Holiday period whether it falls on a weekday or weekend. Corporate rates are also NOT VALID on weekends (friday, saturday, sunday), unless written approval is issued by our manager.

Damaged Tires & Rims
The renter is fully responsible for all tire, wheel, and hubcap damage during the rental. Whether the tire and wheel were damaged by road hazard, driver error, or even a blowout, the renter will be held responsible and charged for any expenses to repair the vehicle or replace the tire or related components. If towing is necessary, the renter is also responsible for all towing expenses.
Drivers license check
You need to know that we reserve the right to electronically check the (first time) renters' drivers license. The only information we are able to access is DMV information which is public knowledge. There is a slight charge for this procedure. Depending on the state, the charge will range from $5 to $25.
DRIVING HISTORY RECORD
Depending on your driving history record, we reserve the right to rent or not to rent you any specific vehicle. Other factors that may determine our decision are your age, and whether or not you are able to supply your own collision insurance. This policy also applies to any additional driver on the rental agreement.
Debit & Bank Cards
We at Action DISCOUNT Car Rental gladly accept Debit Cards and Bank Cards for most rentals in Manhattan, New York City, and Uniondale. The only condition is that the Debit or Bank Card MUST have a VISA or MasterCard logo on it.
Deposit Requirements
You may rent a car in New York with a cash deposit. Cash customers will get the same consideration and DISCOUNTS on their car rental as credit card paying customers. Please call our office if you have any concerns or questions regarding Cash Car Rentals.

Drop Off & Pick Up Service
At Action DISCOUNT Car Rentals we offer drop-off and pick-up service. We can deliver your vehicle to you during business hours. To the Airports, Hotel, Home, office, or other pre-arranged location. The charge for this service is determined by what vehicle we are delivering and of course the delivery location. So please call us as soon as you know your deliver time and date and we will discuss the cost and requirements needed for this service.
Driving Area Restrictions
We allow almost all of our vehicles to be driven out of NY state. But we must be told where you are planning to travel to and your furthest destination. Once we are told your driving destination, and if it is an out of state trip, you will need to get written approval from the manager, and an unlimited miles program might or might not be available, depending on the type of vehicle. We will be able to create a special milage program just for you. We want to make sure that you get the proper vehicle with roadside assistance for your long journey outside the state. Your safety and comfort on long distance and all trips is our concern. So please, let us help you by offering the proper vehicle for your needs. Thank You.
Gasoline Refueling
Our policy for refueling gas is very simple. Please return the vehicle with the same gasoline level as when you took the vehicle. The fuel level amount will be printed on your rent-a-car contract. If you return it with less gasoline, we will charge you $5.95/gal used. So, please check your gas level before returning the vehicle. Thanks
GPS/NAV RENTALS
For you convenience and enjoyment, we now have available for rent portable
GPS Navigation units. The daily rental rate for the unit is $10.00. There is also a $200.00 deposit for the unit. The deposit is refundable upon returning of the Navigation device in undamaged condition.

GPS Navigation DVD
Most vehicles equipped with GPS Navigation use a navigation DVD which we supply with the vehicle. If the vehicle is returned without the navigation DVD the renter will be charged for a replacement DVD. The price of the DVD is approximately $200. So please do not remove the DVD from the special DVD player. Thank you.
Holding Your Reserved Vehicle
We at Action DISCOUNT Car Rentals will hold a confirmed vehicle reservation for not more than one half hour past the scheduled pick up time. Since there is usually such a high demand for EXOTIC vehicles, SUV's, and cars in Manhattan, we ask you to please call us if you are going to be late by more than 1/2 hour.
Holiday period
During holiday periods discounts and coupon specials DO NOT apply. Holiday rates might be higher than internet prices and are NOT DISCOUNTABLE, and rates of cargo vans might be higher than posted on the internet. If your reservation is made within 4 weeks of a national holiday the posted internet price is not guaranteed, please call to confirm prices. During certain holiday periods such as Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, and possibly other holidays, the minimum rental is 4 days. This means that if the vehicle is returned before the 4th day, the charge will still be the full holiday 4 day charge. Due to the many reservation requests during a holiday time, in order to confirm and hold your reservation, you must call in and give a deposit towards your rental. Without a deposit we cannot guarantee the reservation or the vehicle. For further information please call our office.
Also, please note that duting holiday periods, there is NO unlimited miles program. The rate that we will quote you will include 1000 miles. Any miles driven over the allowed 1000 miles during the holiday period will be subject to a charge of $.40/mile. International Drivers & Foreign Nationals
International drivers welcome. We DO ACCEPT foreign drivers license from many countries, and of course all international licenses are accepted. Please call Action Discount Car Rentals with any concerns. Drivers with foreign licenses, must bring their passport or Visa at the time of rental pickup. If you are living in the USA whether permanently or temporarily, you must also bring with you proof of where you reside. This might be a telephone bill or a pay stub. We must be able to identify your place of residence while in the USA. These requirement are due to homeland security issues. If you are staying with family or friends while in the USA, you must supply us with their address and valid telephone number. Thank you for your cooperation.
All tourists who are foreign nationals, visiting the USA nust bring in their Passports when coming to pick up the rental vehicle. If you are a foreign national living temporarily in the USA, you must bring proof showing where you reside in the USA.

Internet Rate Guarantee
Our internet website prices are often Discounted from normal prices. The discounted rates are guaranteed to you subject to our rental policies. Should you cause an exception, the rate charged might be different than the one displayed on this website. Please print out and bring in your online reservation if possible. Internet rates are not guaranteed unless confirmed with a paid deposit.
Late Hours
All rentals cars in Manhattan are calculated by a 24 hours clock. There is a 1/2 HOUR GRACE period. But, if you exceed the 24 hour period by more than 1/2 hour, a per hours late charge will apply to each hour late (starting from the first late hour) until you reach the daily rate. When the total late fee reaches the additional day rate, you will be charged only an additional day. The late fee policy will then apply on the next day if needed. We at Action Discount Car Rentals want you to feel comfortable with your rental. So, if there are any questions regarding overtime, please call us and we will be happy to help you.
Long Distance Travel Over 350 miles radius
Our travel radius policy is very simple. If you will be traveling a "longer distance" away from our office than 350 miles radius, you must notify us at the time of reservation. The reason for this is that our rates for a "long distance" rental plus mileage rates might be different than those quoted you on the internet or by our agents. In addition, if you rented a vehicle and after taking the vehicle, only then decided to change your travel plans and go on a "long distance" drive, you will still be expected to notify our office so that we can review your rental contract and possibly change the rental and mileage rateif applicable.
Miles Restrictions
Please note that all of our exotic and luxury vehicles are limited to a certain amount of miles per day included in the daily price(not more than 200 per day). On other vehicle that usually are not limited to daily mileage, if your rental is 3 or 4 days or less, including all holiday periods, you are limited to not more than 1000 miles total for the 3 or 4 days at no charge. Any miles driven over the 1000 miles will be subject to a mileage charge of 40 cents per mile. If you intend on traveling on a longer distance trip where the distance from our office is 350 miles or more, please let us know ahead of time, or at the time of your reservation. Our policy is that mid size and compacts do not travel to distances further than 350 miles away from our location. We will be more than happy to create a special package that will include all the necessary miles and the appropriate car that you will need, at a special price for you.
Please note that if your rental will be over 600 miles, In-town specials and any discounts from our printed price sheets are only available with managers written approval. If you will be traveling outside the tri-state area, please note that you must notify us of your destination, and that you will be limited to 300 miles per day included in the rental rate, (on any of our non-exotic vehicles)and that there will be a mileage charge for each mile driven over the alloted 300 miles per day.
We will be happy to create a special long distance travel package for you if you will be traveling further than the above mentioned mileage. Please speak with one of our courtious agents at any time.

Minimum Notice Reservation
During Holiday periods and weekends(Friday-Sunday) periods,(starting April and through Septemper) reservations must be made at least 48 hours before pick up time in order for your reservation to be valid. If reserving less than 48 hours in advance, please call our office and confirm the reservation with our agent. We will do our best to put you in the car you requested. Also please note that even if you make a reservation and the computer sends you a reservation confirmation, there is the chance that you will not be able to pick up the vehicle you selected at the time you reserved. This is due to customers before you who might be extending their rental at the last minute. In order to guarantee your vehicle you must call us with a credit card deposit during weekend and holiday period. If you wish to confirm your reservation please call us with your deposit. Especially if you wish to reserve within less than 48 hours of your pick up time. We must have this policy due to the extremely high demand for vehicles during the peak seasons of the year. We cannot guarantee your weekend or holiday reservation if you reserve within less than 48 hours prior to pickup and did not call in with a deposit on your credit card. The MPG (miles per gallon)shown near some of our vehicles is only an approximation, and should be used as an estimate. Actual MPG depends on the driver's driving habits and other road and weather conditions.
No Learners Permit
Anyone with NO valid drivers license may NOT rent or drive or be included on the rental agreement.You cannot rent a vehicle if you have only a learners permit. NO EXCEPTIONS.
NO ONE WAY RENTALS UNLESS APPROVED
At Action Discount Car Rentals all our rentals must be returned to the original pick up location. If you encounter a problem with the vehicle during your rental, you must notify us immediately but you are not allowed to abandon the vehicle or leave the vehicle at a place of your choosing. Arrangement MUST be made with our office to check out your vehicle at a location near you. We have a network of repair facilities that should be able to service you rental vehicle.
Please remember that if you leave the vehicle or abandon it, you will be responsible for ALL costs incurred to retreive the vehicle and return it to our office. The rental will extend through the date and time that the vehicle returns to our office.
Please remember that if you leave a vehicle due to a flat time or running out of gasoline, it is your responsibility to refuel the vehicle and also to replace the flat tire.

NO TOWING

Our Responsibility
We are not responsible for any cost that the renter claims during the rental period. We do not reimburse the cost of other car rentals, restaurants, hotel, or any other travel costs during the rental period.

Promotional Period
Promotional Periods are those periods of days during the year when Action Car Rental offers reduced or discounted rates on the internet when are lower than our regular published rates.
During these Promotional Periods, we do not allow additional discounts to the rental to be taken due to the extremely low rates already available.

Pet Hair, Dirt, and Odor
Our policy is clear and simple. No one wants to sit in a car that has pet hair or odor in it. So please do not carry dogs or cats in the vehicle. If you must, then cover the area where your pet is going to be. If the vehicle comes back with pet dirt or odor, YOU WILL be CHARGED an additional charge for cleaning and deodorizing the vehicle. The charge is a mininum of $80, depending on the amount of work necessary to clean the interior and remove the hair and odor. This is a strict policy that will be enforced.

Roadside Assistance
Many of our Manhattan based vehicles come with roadside assistance. Ford, Nissan, Caddy, BMW, Mercedes, and more. Roadside assistance means you can feel safe and secure driving a vehicle from Action Discount Car Rentals and knowing that should a problem occur (even a flat tire), and you have driven outside New York City, you are just a phone call away from help.

Rates Printed on Rental Agreement
We at Action Car Rental are proud of our very competitive rates for our retail customers as well as our corporate accounts. The rates printed on your Rental Agreement are ONLY valid until the Due Back date printed. If any renter, whether retail or corporate, extends the rental past the rental Due Back date printed on the Rental Agreement (contract) and returns the vehicle on a later date than the one printed on his/her original Rental Agreement, the additional days past the printed "Due Back" date will be priced at the higher full price rate displayed in our office price sheet. If any renter extends his/her rental past the Due Back date and those extended days fall into a weekend (friday, saturday, sunday) or into a holiday period such as any federal holiday plus others, the renter WILL BE RESPONSIBLE for the full rental policy and prices of that weekend or holiday. Please be advised that some weekends and holiday rentals policies might include substantially higher rates than our normal price sheet rates plus a minimum rental charge of 3 or 4 days if the rental spans over the holiday period. No exceptions can be made to this policy unless it is in written form and an updated Rental Agreement approved by our manager. So, please return your vehicle at the agreed upon date printed on your Rental Agreement.
Reserved Vehicle Availability
We at Action Car Rental will always do our best to have the vehicle that you reserved available for you for your pickup time. At times, due to conditions out of our control, if your vehicle is not available for you in a reasonable time, we might upgrade your vehicle to a similar one to the one you reserved in order to satisfy you and your needs. The upgrade or change in the vehicle will, if need be, will be done at our discretion and with the decision of our manager. Thank you for your understanding.
Reservation cancelation
Please be advised that if you need to cancel your weekend reservation for a non-exotic vehicle we require that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance for a Friday pickup, or by Thursday 7:00PM for a Saturday or Sunday pickup. If canceling in less time than stated above there will be a cancelation charge that you will be responsible for and will be charged to your credit card. On non-exotic cars the cancelation charge for a weekend is the 1 day advertised internet weekend rate. On holiday rentals the charge is your full holiday rental rate. This is due to the extreme shortage of vehicles in New York during holiday periods.
For exotic vehicles the charge is the 1 day internet rate for your pickup date and time, if not cancelled within 48 hours of the pickup date and time . This includes weekend and weekday rentals. Holiday cancelation will be charged the full reservation rate. For 15 Passenger Vans the same policy applys, but the calcelation must be done within 72 hours of the pickup date and time.

Rental Extension rates
If the renter, whether retail or corporate, extends the rental period to a new date past the original return date on the rental agreement, no matter the reason, this will automatically void any special pricing or rate that was associated with the original rental length, and the normal printed price sheet rental rate will then be applied to the total rental time starting from the first day of the original rental agreement. In other words; for example; if the renter was given a 2 day special price that included a certain % discount, and then decided to extend the rental to 5 days, then the % discount will no longer be valid and the total rental will be calculated by the regular printed price sheet price. Any exception must be given by the manager in writing.
Spare Tire and Jack
Each one of our vehicles is equipped with a spare tire (unless the vehicle has runflat tires), and a jack and lug wrench. It is the sole responsibility of the renter to replace the tire with the spare provided in case of a flat tire. We do not give flat tire replacement service. The renter is also responsible for the cost of the replacement tire. Unforetunately there is sometimes road hazzar, but we cannot assume responsibility for the damage caused to the tires and rims. Please drive carefully and be aware of streets ahead of you.
Summons payment responsibility
The renter is fully and totally responsible for any parking, traffic, and E-Z PASS summonses during the time of the rental. If you ignire and not pay any summonses you receive, we will be obligeted to send your summonses to a company that charges a service fee to collect our tickets charges and bill you on YOUR credit card. There fee is $40 over and above the fee for the summons plus any additional late fees or other service charges administered by NYC or any other municipality that issued the summons. This could cost you alot more than the original ticket. So please don't get a ticket, but if you do, please pay it timely in order to avoid all the other charges that you will have to pay anyway. If you try to avoid paying summonses, you will only pay alot more later. There is no escape from paying summonses. Please take our advise. We know and we're trying to help you. Child Seats
Child safety seats are available. We understand that many people travel outside New York with little kids. We are proud to say that we carry a full stock of children and infant seats. our fee is nominal, only $7.95.day. You can reserve the seat on line along with your vehicle reservation.
TIRES AND RIMS

We understand that travel agents have had a tough time recently with the airline carriers such as American Airlines, United Airlines, etc. where commissions have been cut back. Traveling to Canada
Action Car Rental allows travel to Canada with our vehicles.
But certain restrictions and conditions must be met.
All travel to Canada must have manager's approval.
Due to insurance policies, only certain vehicles in our fleet are allowed to travel to Canada. So, you must advise our agent that you are planning to travel to Canada, and we will assign you the proper vehicle.
No compact cars are allowed to travel to Canada.

Internet rates posted do not necessarily represent rates of vehicles traveling to Canada. Please note that there will be a $100.00 surcharge added to any Rental Agreement of a vehicle which travels into Canada. This is a one time charge no matter the length of the rental.

Traveling to Mexico not allowed
Action Car Rental does NOT allow any of our vehicles to be driven into Mexico due to insurance regulations.
If it is found that your vehicle traveled into Mexico during your rental, we will add and you will be responsible for an additional rate surcharge of $2000 in addition to your rental agreement rate. So please do not break the rules. No traveling to Mexico is allowed.

Underage drivers are welcome
Young drivers are WELCOME at ACTION CAR RENTALS. Our minimum age requirement is 18. THERE IS AN UNDER AGE DRIVER SURCHARGE FOR YOUNG DRIVERS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18-24. DRIVERS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18-20 MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN COLLISION INSURANCE COVERAGE. If under 21 and cannot provide your own coverage you are unable to rent any vehicle. The correct applicable rate for underage driver will be posted for you when you enter your reservation request and proper age. You can also call our office and we will be happy to give you the underage surcharge rate over the phone.
Rates for 18-20 might be higher during holiday periods, proms, and graduations.

Unauthorized Repairs
NO repairs of any kind, no matter how large or small may be done to the rental vehicle without written approval of the management. If a repair is done without approval, the renter will be fully reposnsible for any and all additional repair work that might be needed in order to properly repair the rental vehicle and to brig it back to its pre-rental condition.

What is a Confirmmed Reservation
The only way a reservation is confirmmed is after a deposit has been taken by our office towards your reservation request. A cash or credit card deposit must be given in order for us to hold your reservation.

Age 18 to 20 - must supply your own insurance, or have car rental insurance on your credit card. Or rent with an additional driver over 24.
Age 21 to 22 - must supply proof of insurance or have car rental insurance on your credit card.

Geographic Restrictions
Our vehicle are allowed to travel to any location from Maine to Florida. We also allow the vehicles to travel westward. But if you are planning to travel west of Ohio, we must be told before you rent your vehicle. We ask this so that we will be able to determine of your exact vehicle will have available service if necessary.
Travel to Mexico is strictly forbidden. Travel to Canada is allowed with manager's written approval.
All vehicle are rented strictly on a round trip rental agreement.
Dropping off a vehicle anywhere except for one of our locations is only allowed with manager's written approval.
